6. Who ensures the finances are being handled correctly?
There is a team that oversees the finances within the church, as well as a team of trustees that have ultimate responsibility for the integrity and use of the finances. This team of trustees is made up of people from within the pastoral team as well as others from the church and other pastors from other churches. Added to that, we are accountable financially to a yearly audit by professional external accountants as well as the charity commission themselves. Financial integrity is paramount to us and we take very seriously the responsibility to direct the church finances in a way that is honest, open and accountable.
