The years immediately following college are a transitional time, and it is our belief that the local church is meant to play an important part in this time of a believer’s life. Whether you are planning on going to university full-time, part-time or going into full-time employment (yes, if you’re 18-25 in a job, this includes you!!), the Student Ministry of Christchurch is here for you.

As a group we function with a three-fold mission in mind that can be summed up as follows….

1. Christ as my treasure
Our first priority is to have Christ as our treasure. The university years are a time when value is placed on so many different things, and it is important for us as university age singles to be growing in our walks with the Saviour so that we live lives of worship, bringing glory to Him. The more we understand His love and mercy as displayed in the Cross, the more we will value and treasure Him.

2. Church as my family
We also believe that active involvement in a local church is essential to the Christian walk. The university years are filled with various opportunities and adventures that we want to take advantage of to the fullest. The Bible establishes local churches as a necessary means by which God cares for us in our lives together. We see our church as a family to the extent that it is the place where we find and enjoy true biblical relationships and lasting friendships as we seek to serve and encourage one another, and reach out to our community.

3. Campus as my mission
Reaching out to our communities is the way we obey Christ’s command to preach the Gospel. Our university campus is our mission in that, wherever we are, we are called to go with the Gospel and to proclaim it to those who have not heard. Whether we are on a college campus or moving into a full-time job, we want to approach that place as the venue into which God has called us to take the Gospel.

As a result, the Student Ministry is made up of fun, vibrant and gospel-centred young people from campuses all over Newport & Cardiff, who love to get together, who love Jesus, and who are seeking to reach out to their generation.
