Our Pastoral Team
![]() Peter Greasley Senior Pastor |
Although his formative years were spent in Wales, Pete originally beckons from the Midlands in England. God wonderfully stopped Pete in his rebellious tracks at the age of twenty. Subsequently God led Pete to understand the Gospel of grace and made this his passion in life. He was one of the co-founders of Christchurch. Married to Jenny for over two decades he has three grown children. An avid reader his ideal holiday is spent in sunny (rarely) west Wales with Jenny, a warm fire and a good book. Pete likes to think of himself as an up and coming golfer – now that he has his shortened clubs! He also has a tendency to take bad weather with him wherever he goes – seriously! |
![]() Dave Taylor Executive Pastor |
Dave hales from the sprawling metropolis of Spalding in Lincolnshire. While he grew up in church Dave never really took God seriously until a turn of events while at University in Cardiff. During this season God showed Dave the value of the gospel and gave him the passion to pursue the Lord further. Married to Emma they have three children between the ages of two and six. Dave and Emma were one of the first couples from the UK to attend the Sovereign Grace Pastors College and now Dave oversees the day to day running of Christchurch. Although a slight fellow Dave has a deceptively powerful right foot and also considers himself an up and coming golfer. He is also the only person we are aware of who eats crouton sandwiches! |
![]() Bob Mc Can Pastoral Assistant |
Bob originally comes from County Tipperary in the Emerald Isle, although he spent the last couple of decades in the United States of America. While in the USA Bob met some Christians who shared the gospel with him. It wasn’t long until Bob found himself confessing Jesus as his saviour and his life’s course changed dramatically! Following this Bob met his wife, Annemarie (an Italian New Yorker), and they now have four Irish-Italian-American children aged between 7 and 13! Bob came over to Christchurch in 2007 after attending the Pastors College and now heads up our family life ministry. A carpenter by trade, Bob can still be seen using his hammer swing while holding a golf club – normally very early in the morning and usually in the rain! |
![]() Daniel Gaweda Pastoral Assistant |
Finding out where Dan comes from normally takes about ten minutes, so let’s just say that he comes from the Midlands! His parents became Christians a year before he was born and while he couldn’t say exactly when he became a Christian he was aware of his need for a Saviour as he grew up. He arrived in Cardiff to pursue an accountancy degree without real numerical skill! While at university he met his now wife, Catherine, and the Lord brought them to Christchurch through an out of date wall planner. They have three little ones under the age of six and are awaiting the arrival of number four. Dan primarily assists his Pastors College classmate Bob in the family life ministry. He stinks at golf. |
![]() Lewis Roderick Pastoral Intern |
Lewis Roderick is the latest addition the Christchurch pastoral team having recently finished a year studying on the Cornhill training course, WEST and a few years working for a welsh language church in Cardiff city centre. |
![]() Gavin Smith Church Administrator |
At one stage in his life, Gavin was on course for a career in professional football. After having trials with some top clubs he had to decide whether he was to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a footballer or to pursue God. Gavin decided to leave the football world in his late teens after God arrested his heart and became his primary passion. He now works as the church’s administrator and helps the ship run smoothly. Married to Emma, they have two children between 2 and 3 with another on the way! Gavin is the keenest golfer in the team, as well as the keenest shopper and bargain hunter! He’s also retained a vicious shot on the football pitch! |

![]() Joy Jenkins Administrative Assistanttrator |
Joy has been a part of Christchurch since 1999 and a Christian for thirty years. She was born in Katmandu, Nepal and lived in southern India until she was fifteen years old. She is married to Chris and they have two daughters. Joy primarily assists Gavin with the finances of the church. In her spare time she enjoys planning for and visiting new places as well as watching medical/science dramas on TV. Joy can always be relied upon to bring some common sense into any conversation which is appreciated given that the folk in the office aren’t always the most common sensical! |
![]() Dan Clemo Media Consultant for Christchurch |
Dan is Director for STØRM Visual Communications Ltd and oversees much of the media that is produced for and by Christchurch. He has been a Christian for about sixteen years and has been a part of Christchurch since its beginning. Dan is married to Rachel and they have one young son. He loves to spend time with his family, playing the guitar and doing DIY. If he were an animal he would be a slug which may explain why his only attempt at growing tomatoes in his greenhouse (yes, he is under 35 and still has one!) ended in disaster. But we try not to mention that barren harvest time! |
