One of the fundamental priorities of Christchurch is a commitment to church planting. We love the local church and believe the most effective way to reach out with the gospel is through the planting and establishing of local churches to the glory of God.
Our commitment however, does not mean that this is something that should be undertaken lightly or quickly. We would prefer to plant just a few churches with dedication and commitment, than over-extend ourselves and not be able to provide all the support needed for the establishing of a healthy local church.
One of the necessities in church planting is having a team that is equipped; in personnel, teaching and financial support, in order to be able to plant a church effectively. With this in mind, we are constantly looking within us for men whom God has called to this task. We have the opportunity to send these men to the Pastors College, run by Sovereign Grace Ministries and based in Covenant Life Church, Gaithersburg (under the leadership of CJ Mahaney).
Once everything is then in place, Christchurch together with Sovereign Grace Ministries plants out a church with a full-time pastor and a church planting team.

Grace Church, Bristol:
Our first church plant in the UK has been to Bristol. Nathan Smith, whom we sent to pastor's college in 2000, serves as the Senior Pastor and he was joined in January 2006 by Peter Bowley (Pastor). It has been a great joy for us to see this church planted out and to see the evident grace of God upon them.

Sovereign Grace Church, Merthyr:
We were then thrilled to launch out our second church plant in June 2005, to Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales. This church is led by Gareth Lloyd (Senior Pastor) and Tony Graham (Pastor), and in God’s kindness it has already become a thriving local church.
